Forensics' Lab

While doing the different science labs I had to make multiple observations. Sometimes that meant that I had to record different things. I think that helped with coming to conclusions because I was able to go back and look at my observations. For instance when I had to find out which piece of fabric was the criminals using the telescope helped me narrow down my observations. The pieces of fabric that didn’t look like the one at the crime scene I immediately made a mental note that said that the piece of fabric was most likely not the criminals.

Sometimes it was hard to get precise results because of miscommunication. I found that in different labs such as the bullet firearms lab my partner and I had problems figuring out some of the instructions. So we had to get help and try again because we didn’t get it the first time. But I think that’s all part of the process and at the end we did finish the lab.

With my partners information and me we knew that it was right because we did it right in front of us and trusted are information. I think that we could rely on are observations but sometimes we made a mistake and had to go back. Using common knowledge we sometimes questioned ourselves but we where always able to get help. With the information given to us we relied on that more because we knew it would be right because the paper said it. We immediately thought since the instructions said it, and then it should be right.

Blood Splatter

With the multiple drops at each height it allowed us to see the different shapes of the drops. When the drops where higher up they tended to splash and make more drops. Using the multiple drops allowed me and my partner to see the different shapes the blood platters made. And how they would change form different heights.

The higher we would drop the blood the more it would spread out. Most of are higher drops would be the size of a quarter. The also would be in the shape of a corona top. I think that it would be hard to be accurate on the height of which a blood dropped. Because using the materials given it was hard to control the drops. This happened because sometimes the blood drops would come out to fast. The maybe two drops would come out. Maybe with better tools and an extra test we would be able to be more accurate.
